Mexican Actress Queta Lavat from ‘Rebelde’ and ‘La Usurpadora’ Dies at 94

Queta Lavat, a Mexican actress known for her roles in the soap opera Rebelde and the 2019 remake of La Usurpadora, has died at the age of 94.

The news was confirmed by friends and family in a statement on social media.
“We announce, with sorrow, the passing of Queta Lavat. A great actress, a better woman, an extraordinary mother. With deep memories and love. Carrillo Lavat Family,” the note says.
The actress underwent surgery in March 2023, after being rushed to the hospital due to a thrombosis in her leg. However, the cause of her death was not disclosed. Queta leaves behind four children.

Queta is considered one of the great actresses in the history of Mexico. In over 75 years of career, she stood out in film, television, and theater, and was part of the golden age of Mexican cinema between the 1930s and 1950s.
